Chair's Cheers
First of all, welcome to the Information Technology Application and Management program. As the program director, I would like to share some experiences and advice to help you grow and learn better during your four years of university life.Reflecting on my freshman year, everything was so new and full of challenges. University is different from high school; the academic demands are higher, and there is more freedom. Sometimes, you may feel confused or lost, but please believe that this is part of the growth process.
First piece of advice: Actively participate.
Whether it’s in classroom discussions, group projects, or on-campus and off-campus activities, please actively engage in them. These experiences will not only enrich your learning life but also help you build valuable connections. Every participation is an opportunity for learning and growth.
Second piece of advice: Manage your time
University life offers much more freedom, but it also requires stronger self-management skills. Learn to arrange your time reasonably, balancing academics, social life, and rest. This is the key to success. When you can manage your time effectively, you can find balance under pressure and enjoy the joy of learning.
Third piece of advice: Don’t be afraid to make mistakes
University is a process of exploration and learning, and mistakes are an inevitable part of it. Don’t be afraid of failure or making mistakes; the important thing is to learn from them and improve yourself. Every setback is an opportunity for growth.
Fourth piece of advice: Stay curious
Information technology is a field that is constantly evolving and changing. Stay curious and actively learn new knowledge, which will keep you competitive in this field. Don’t limit yourself to textbooks; try to explore a broader range of knowledge, which will lay a solid foundation for your career.
Fifth piece of advice: Seek support
Whether in academics or life, if you encounter difficulties, don’t hesitate to seek help. The school’s teachers, counselors, and senior students are all willing to assist you. Build a support system that will make you stronger when facing challenges.
Finally, I want to say that these four years of university life will pass in the blink of an eye. Cherish this time, study hard, and pursue your dreams bravely. Your effort and passion will determine your future path. I have full confidence in you and look forward to seeing your achievements in the future.
Keep up the good work!
